What is the Carbon Footprint of a cremation?
I have a sneaking suspicion that cremation is not the most “green” way to go. An average cremation takes about 2 hours at 1,800 degrees farenheit. This is for an average body of 150 pounds using natural gas in a newly-manufactured retort. How much carbon dioxide/greenhouse gas is released into the atmosphere?
If you want to go green, do what I have done and arrange for your body to be given to a local medical school.
I have been teaching all my adult life, and don’t see why I should stop just because I happen to be dead.
